How To Get Victoria’s Secret Angel Hair
The day has arrived: the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs tonight on CBS at 10/9c. If you’ve gotten a sneak peek at all the sparkly goodness that hit the runway during the London taping, you’ll know that you can’t escape the signature, sexy bombshell hairstyle.
Luxury hair tool brand ghd is the show’s official hair tool sponsor, and the ghd team gave us the sultry scoop on how the supermodels’ luscious locks were styled to perfection using ghd hair tools.
Led by international session stylist Akki Shirakawa, the ghd team relied on its “backstage hero products” including the ghd curve curling tongs to create the soft, seemingly undone waves sported by the angels (all 47 of them!). A mix of curls and waves were the result of using both the ghd curve classic curl tong and soft curl tong, varying the sections of hair by size and thickness. To accent the style, ends of each section of hair were left loose, uncurled, and free. With a boost from the ghd air hairdryer, curls were broken up to complete the look.
ghd’s head of global education, Jo Martin, advises that “curling in a non-uniform way added real fluid beauty to the hair… the ghd curve tongs gave a long-lasting curl that ensured the girls could walk the runway, then party afterwards.”
