Breaking Point Movie Premiere Party
Breaking Point Premiere
Wednesday night was went down with a bang at premiere of Breaking Point, at the Sunshine Theater. Breaking point is a new movie starring Busta Rhymes, Tom Berenger, Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones, and Armand Assante.
Members of the cast were greeted with a warm welcome as they made their way down the red carpet with style. Tom Berenger, who wore a simple black suit with a cream scarf arrived with his daughter, Chloe. Quisha Saunders, who plays Tanya in the film, arrived wearing a lovely green, spaghetti-strapped cocktail dress and was all smiles as she made her way around the red carpet — Look for her when Disney’s releases When in Rome. Kenya Brome who portrayed Angela in the film showed her petite physique in stunning purple cocktail dress as she walked the red-capert. Busta Rhymes arrived, jolly and humble, wearing a casual suit that complemented his frame adding his own flair with a pair of fresh white sneakers and a large diamond stud in his ear.
Busta Rhymes’ role in the film was a complete surprise— portraying a darker side of him. He stated that the “storyline drew him to this role.” Busta, being a passionate man, was intrigued by the darkness of the characters. He was drawn to the endurance as they all fought to survive, a struggle that brought all the characters together. When asked of his personal style, Busta explained “there’s no words to describe it.” Though, he broke it down and explain that he likes casual clothes to be free, allowing him comfort with style. Formal clothes, he went on likes fitted, especially suits. He loves suits. From what we’ve seen of his style, it is uniquely his and no one can pull it off the way he does.
The movie features Steven played by Tom Berenger, a criminal defense lawyer making his way back to the profession after a bout with drug addiction and family tragedy. Steven, takes on a high profile murder case that leads him to confront his own demons. He develops a fast friendship with Richard “Beanz” Allen (Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones), an ex-athlete turned gang member, and together they unravel the truth and bring about justice in the court and on the street. In order to do so, Steven and Allen go up against Bowen (Busta Rhymes), a sadistic gang leader and Steven’s old drug dealer. As Steven unravels the connections between himself, Bowen, and a corrupt police department with Allen’s help, he discovers more about the truth, himself, and the common mission of pursuit of redemption between himself and Allen.
Mark Celentano and Kevin Strom, co-executive producers of the film and creators of Red Sky Media (www.REDSKYMEDIA.com) also were on for the party. They were very pleased with the final cut of the film, and by the looks on their faces, by the great reception of the audience as well. The after party kicked off at BLVD, a trendy lounge around the corner on Bowery St. Though it rained and poured, it ended up being a fabulous night!
