About Last Night: Bergdorf Goodman Debuts “Holidays on Ice”
Bergdorf Goodman scattered some holiday cheer. Naturally people came in by the dozens to be a part of the magic.
It all went down last night, where people gathered to witness this year holiday windows at the famed Fifth Avenue shopping destination. This year windows a juxtaposition of “traditional holidays” along with re-imagined of icy, snowy, frozen dioramas were as grand and spectacular as in the past. All total of five window–with each depicting a different holiday, with ice as the common denominator–were created. And to showcase the “Holidays on Ice” windows, Bergdorf Goodman hosted a fete like no other.
For the first time ever for the window reveal, the store hosted a special sidewalk event. It included a special performance by STREB Extreme Action Company, a Brooklyn-based troupe led by award-winning choreographer Elizabeth Streb. Members from the troupe descended–Batman style– from the iconic Fifth Avenue building that left the onlookers completely dazzled in disbelieve and delight. The evening also included shining lights seemingly coming from the sky, and a giant, twinkling snowflake.
In attendance were the evening hosts Andy Cohen and Linda Fargo as well as David Hoey, Senior Director of Visual Presentation for Bergdorf Goodman; the mastermind behind the window creations was on hand as well.
The windows are on display through January 6th. So you’re in the area (5th Ave between 58th and 57th Streets) take a tour to see the windows.
