Good Eats: Fine Rome Eats at Antica Pesa
A little piece of Italy has arrived in Williamsburg, and in the process shaking the hipsters living the in the nabe. Okay, this is not entirely true. However, Antica Pesa, a Roman restaurant opened its newest location stateside in ‘burg. The original location, popular with the well-heeled set (Richard Gere is a fan), opened in 1922 in Rome.
Located on 115 Berry Street (North Seventh Street), Antica Pesa serves authentic Roman dishes with a modern twist. Don’t worry the newly opened restaurant—founded by brothers Francesco and Simone Panella—is vegetarian friendly. The selections are packed with vegetables as in the gnocchi verdi gratinati Housemade spinach gnocchi with oven-roasted tomatoes and pesto so locals can munch with gusto without fear of doing damage to the waist line.
