Jay Godfrey Spring 2011
Last week we attended a special fashion-fete at designer Jay Godfrey fabulous apartment. Attended by serious fashion heavy weights the special celebration was held to showcase Jay Godfrey Spring 2011 collection. Here’s the Skinny on the upcoming collection:
DESIGN INSPIRATION: “I started by thinking about Capri,” Godfrey shared with Fashionista.com. “The interior design of the JK Capri, this amazing hotel there, was my inspiration. The rich blues, whites, and the bright colors of the bougainvillea—a flower that’s indigenous to the Amalfi Coast—are all here.”
SPOTTED: Jessica Szohr, Olivia Palermo, and Jay Godfrey beautiful baby girl. The adorably chubster wore a custom dress inspired by a print from the collection – Jealous.
Thoughts on SPRNG 2011: The Spring 2011 Jay Godfrey girl can expect an elegant array of party attire. Lookout for soft flowing dresses (hello ruffles) with really classic and simple accents that perfectly compliment the designs. The silhouettes are contemporary “girly” with a cool mix of long and short dresses. Also, expect bold colors in hues like blood-red, plush lavenders, lime greens, and lively blues paired with a set of cheerful prints dresses. And, we are in love.
BEST LOOKS: We loved the collection and narrowing down the choice to a few is rather difficult but we just loved the soft v-neck dress with delicate ruffles. We also loved the asymmetrical print dress that is simply stunning.
