This Week Parties at Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue
I love going to department stores as much as the next gal. With so many designers and labels all in one place, I quickly can snatch my must haves. However, the thought of partying and drinking bubbly at Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy‘s seems absolutely ridiculous to me. Don’t you? However, after a series of parties held a both locations this week, I am slowly rethinking this “crazy” idea that one does not party at Macys! Here’s a roundup of happenings at our local department stores.
On Wednesday night, Macy’s, held an invite-only party to celebrate the release of their latest collaboration with Giambattista Valli. Giambattista himself, along with models Jessica Stam, Chanel Iman and Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, were spotted at the packed soiree. The celebration was held at the Impulse section of the department store. Obviously, confused shoppers were spotted looking in on the festivities.
Also, on Wednesday night Saks Fifth Avenue welcomed VIP guests to a special shopping event featuring FURLA Handbags. The soiree which was hosted by Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford showcased FURLA’s exclusive handbag collection for Saks Fifth Avenue. Attendees including Rutina Wesley and FURLA Creative Director Fabio Fusi, jammed to the sounds of DJ Sky Nellor, indulged on cocktails and noshed on light bites while peeking at the current collection.
And, last night a preppy set headed to Macy’s for a chance to meet celebrity stylist Brad Goreski. The former The Rachel Zoe Project reality was on hand to celebrate the launch of Tommy Hilfiger’s (he serves as brand ambassador) new his and her fragrances, Eau de Prep Tommy and Eau de Prep Tommy Girl. The one-hour meet up featured a mini-fashion show with four models, a fashion contest where a preppiest gal and guy each won $250 shopping card and other goodies, and a sampling of the new scent which is available exclusively at Macy’s.
