Forte Fashion Show by Seam Collection Review
[slideshow id=7] I attended “Forte’” a groundbreaking charity fashion show featuring emerging designers presented by the SEAM COLLECTIVE, at the Metropolitan Pavilion. In addition to hosting a show for emerging designers this show aims to raise money for charity. That’s correct for this event 50% of the ticket proceeds (a silent auction was conducted as well)were donated to Gilda’s Club New York City. Gilda’s Club New York City is an excellent program that provides a meeting place for women, men, and children living with cancer. Gilda’s Club’s motto is, “Living with cancer? Come as you are.”
As I waited for the show to begin I sipped on the complimentary drink, “Berkshire Bitter.” Which I can simply sum up in two words, yummy, yummy.
The show began with its headliner of the evening, Kenley Collins (a former Project Runway Contestant). Ms. Collins who credits her inspiration to Amelia Earheart created timeless pieces such as a black & white stripped dress, another piece included Mary Janes paired with a navy blue bottom half of a dress with a florescent white lace top. Sheila Frank proceeded with more of a “Rock n Roll” spin with gray boy shorts, and perfect business to after 5 flowery tops. Elizabeth Rynish followed with a collection that contained splashes of color including a bright orange and yellow that looked elegant and business like simultaneously. Last, Marissa Erskine with her innocent good girl meets sexy bad girl line of Rissa. Rissa paired shelly pinks with gold cupped skirts. Every piece was very well crafted, seams completely finished, and rich fabrics in both color and texture.
All the looks seen during the Seam Collective Forte` Charity Fashion Show were created using Hard Candy Cosmetics which are exclusively sold at Walmart! Trust me those girls looked marvelous, its worth checking in to.
To add more sugar to the sweetness of the pot was the goodie bag. The white shopping bag provided by “wowgreen.” “Wowgreen” creates an all-purpose cleaning products made 100% of all natural products. The gift bag included, an umbrella, Slenders from Moxie, Shampoo & Conditioner from Oribe, Stretch Mark Fading Cream from Tummy Honey, $10 Complimentary Gift Card to Diamond Harmony, Eyeshadow Duo from Hard Candy, Sea Salt from Aromotherapy, $20 gift card to Your Inner Fashion Diva, postcards of Kenly Collins, and a sample of floor cleaner from wowgreen. Was that a mouthful or just a serious serious goodie bag???
Additional attendees include the likes of Roberto Cavali’s CFO, Alessandro Mattarini, Owners & Editors of Tokion, Surface & Ink Magazine’s Don Hellinger & Jason Hellinger, Steven Beltrani of Charity Happenings, and of course the ladies of Seam Collective, “Shari Rueck, Vicky Ferraro, Minyoung Shin, and Elizabeth Runish, and countless press, fashion guru’s, buyers, and people supporting charity.
All in all the show was a huge success and hopefully to the Gilda NYC organization. All thanks to the designers, sponsors, Polina Fashion LLC, and fashionable donators! Stay fab & rock on!
Cheers, Leah Richards
