There’s a Newcomer in Brooklyn… It’s Amazon
The Williamsburg neighborhood said hello to Amazon this week, as the online powerhouse celebrated the official opening of its own photo and video studio on 35 Kent Avenue. What used to be an old glass factory, this 40,000 square foot space will be Amazon’s in-house shop for producing photo and video content for its Fashion group (in case you didn’t know, Amazon already counts the websites MyHabit, ShopBop, and Zappos among its fashion group properties).
Want to see how a garment looks in motion — not just on a hanger? You got it. Amazon Fashion president Cathy Beaudoin said, “We wanted to have one single hub where we could ensure excellence… and we wanted to be in New York because New York is, bar none, the best source of creative talent in the world.” Hear, hear!
