Hot! Uniqlo Officially Opens its Massive Flagship

Do you remember when Forever 21 opened its 91,257-square-feet store making it the the largest single brand store in all of Manhattan, with a mind-blowing 151 fitting rooms, 32 cash register and 500 employees?  Uniqlo, it seems, is doing better (though not bigger), with its new 89,000 square feet flagship in Fifth avenue.

The Wonderwall designed and cavernous three-floor space, officially opened this Friday and has 100 fitting rooms, 50 registers, 650 employes and an amazing selection of cool merchandise.

The first floor is dedicated to cashmere, while the second floor solely houses the +J Collection and the last floor features a mixture of collections.  Obviously, there’s a lot to shop. However,  it the thought of shopping at one of the biggest store in NYC doesn’t pique your interest-perhaps this will Uniqlo is offering special edition jeans for just $9.90 and cashmere sweaters starting at $49.90.

In addition to the special discounted merchandise to celebrate to store opening, Uniqlo also hosted a massive bash with performances from Sharon Jones, and Santigold. Guests including Ron Frasch, John Varvatos, Jeffrey Costello, Robert Tagliapietra, and Phillip Bloch, sipped sake in Uniqlo monogrammed wooden tumblers and noshed on Asian influenced light bites.
