Swizz Beatz, and others Support “Fashion for a Cause” Dawson Scleroderma Foundation
American Designer, David Meister, lent his latest collection of Cocktail dresses to benefit a ‘Fashion for A Cause‘ at the Carlton Hotel last night. The evening show also served as the official launch for the Dawson Scleroderma Foundation. The foundation aims to improve to “the quality of life, health and socioeconomic impact of Scleroderma for patients through personal enrichment, empowerment, and support.”
This special benefit attracted a cool number of tastemakers, socialites, notable personalities and of course charitable folks. Though, we think the impressive celeb invite list helped with the great turnout. We spotted music producer Swizz Beatz, sans wife and singer Alicia Keys, making the rounds, talking to press and mingling with guests. In addition to making an appearance to support this great cause, the producer, also served as the evening host. Swizz Beatz, introduced Courtney Dawson, founder of ‘Dawson Scleroderma Foundation,” to the packed house of seated guests. Ms. Dawson, gave a rather moving speech about her decision to start the foundation and with that the show began.
Styled by Lauren Rae Levy – David Meister Spring/Summer collection, featured a wonderful selection of body-slinging dresses with clean lines to loose fitting dresses with classic silhouettes. Former ANTM model Jaslene Gonzales walked the runway and showcased a gorgeous metallic cocktail dress and drew a round of applause. RHONY Ramona Singer, also walked the runway…. to great amusement of her cast-members and the audience.
The evening activities ending with a D.J set from none other that the “real D.J. Swizz Beatz,” as guests dined on amazing food and enjoyed drinks. What’s more some lucky guests got a chance at stardom as they were taping for Real Housewife of New York.
