Around Town: Stuart Weitzman Charity Ping Pong Tournament
After going to the Man Shops Globe Party, I made my way to the Stuart Weitzman “Serve to Save” Ping Pong Charity Tournament. The charity event which was held at SPiN ping pong club aimed to raise money to support Ovarian Cancer Research and Dr. Marsha Moses’ at Folkman Research Institute in Boston, Massachusetts . So, everyone who played was doing to so to support a good cause. Sadly, I am the worst athlete known to man-kind so rather than embarrass myself with my lack of good playing I decide cheerlead all those whose parents blessed with some form of genetic ability which I lack. I spotted Joy Bryant( she was also wearing the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 knee boot),getting down at the ping pong tables and playing her butt off and she was pretty good. UGH, I hate her and I say that in most loving way possible. Though, Joel Roodyn won the tournament but I think he has home court advantage as he is a founding member of SPiN. I am just saying. Something ain’t right.
If sports is not your thing(like me) but you still wanted to support the good cause then you had the opportunity to bid a selection of fun items and activities from the silent auction table. By all accounts the event was a success as the money raised exceeded expectations and that’s something to smile.
In addition to Joy Bryant some noted attendees included Stuart Weiztman himself, model Carol Alt, Wyatt Cenac (The Daily Show), Fabiola Beracasa, Zoya Loeb, Donna Hanover, Danny Clark (NY Giants) and all the other fabulous folks.
