Assouline Gathers Fashionable Folks to Toast The Luxury Alchemist
This past Wednesday, we walked up to The Plaza’s red carpeted stairs into the marble floored hotel entry where we were greeted by a friendly hostess. She directed us to another flight of marble stairs with golden handrails to “The Most Sophisticated Bookstore in the World.” On the evening Assouline, a luxury publishing company, hosted Luxury branding expert Ketty Pucci-Sisti Maisonrouge with a fabulous cocktail party. As you would expect the author met with book lovers and signed copies of The Luxury Alchemist, a book that details how to transform an idea into a luxury brand.
Ketty Pucci-Sisti Maisonrouge sat at an elegant table in front of a large window overlooking Fifth Avenue. Surrounded by bouquets of yellow roses and an abundance of her yellow hard-covered books, the pretty and petite Professor at Columbia Business School greeted French friends as the french do with two air kisses to each cheek. The French speaking patrons dressed in Hermès and Dior stood in line with several copies of The Luxury Alchemist. Who wouldn’t want to learn how to build a luxury brand while enjoying cocktails? At the soiree a tall waiter dressed in a black suit, white shirt, and white gloves offered us along with the other guest a glass of white wine as we waited for the author to sign our book. Eventually, it was our turn and she smiled and autographed the copy of her book with the inscription “May all your lead turn to gold.”– Sonja Killebrew
