Lulu Frost Brings it Back with Montages
We were delighted to recently attend the Lulu Frost “Let’s Bring Back” Fashion Week Spring 2013 presentation, an event presented by the brand’s designer Lisa Salzer and author Lesley M.M. Blume. This was a celebration of the exquisite, both old and new, all inspired by the iconic style of Belle Epoque heiress The Marchesa Casati, political activist and socialite Nancy Cunard, and irreverent mid-century surrealist designer Elsa Schiaparelli.
Models posed in exquisitely lit and decorated scenes filled with “forgotten, yet delightful, chic, curious, and otherwise commendable things from times gone by,” all of which hearkened the charming nuances of Blume’s column and new book “Let’s Bring Back.” Each model was adorned with the Victorian style jewelry of an elegance that we expect from the Lulu Frost brand. Hair and makeup by the talented Jessie James of the Marie Robinson salon rounded out the scene with vintage styles perfected by top notch hair products like Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray, Mizani Setting Gel, and Oribe Gel Serum. We made a mental note to check out Marie Robinson salon to get our tresses pampered.
Guests marveled at the gorgeous vintage scene while sipping on champagne cocktails named after Casati, Cunard, and Schiaparelli and featuring Hendrick’s gin. Guests were gifted with a copy of Lesley M.M. Blume’s new book “Let’s Bring Back,” which we enthusiastically thumbed through, letting out the occasional giggle of charmed amusement. Lulu Frost’s “Let’s Bring Back” event was definitely a highlight of the evening.
