Karen Walker Spring/Summer 2010 Show
Karen Walker’s Spring/Summer 2010
On Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend Karen Walker’s Spring 2010 line and it was rather interesting to say the least.
The collection contained plenty of attention grabbing patterns, familiar shapes, and punches of bright colors. All of which made for a striking collection. At times, models wore layers of clothing that gave a “nautical boho” feel that if worn as is may be a little eccentric for the everyday. But individually many of the items of the clothing can be a stylish addition to your wardrobe. Overall this line screams “comfort.”
In particular I really enjoyed many of the print dresses and the hip-length black coat with gold accents and buttons. My only issue with the show was the choice in models. At times I found myself saying damn, this girl is a fast changer! She came out five times in a row. It was disturbing that all of the models fit a particular build and look. It would have been nice to see a model or two with a little bit of shape. At times the clothing looked as if it were hanging off the models. I would have also liked to see a variety models of other races represented. But over all the experience was a great one.
Below are some of my favorite pieces from the show.
