NYFW: Arden Wohl x Cri De Coeur Spring 2015
For Spring 2015, Coeur was inspired by French post-impressionist artist Paul Gauguin. Paul Gauguin followed his own vision, traveling and seeking exotic environments. The creative period he spent in Tahiti was the main influence in this collection.
Bright island floral pattern, jute espadrilles and woven natural textiles juxtapose post-modern details, such as polished wood, Lucite and patent vegan leather. This hard/soft balance reflects on Gauguin’s paintings in an elusive, oblique way. The entire presentation starting from hair, makeup, draped togas and floral crowns made us want to runaway to an island with a pair of Arden Wohl’s floral patterned Lucite heels.
Nathan Rosenkranz for Alterna created long dreamy beach waves. Courtney Tichman for OCC’s main focus was on the heavy, big brows with sun kissed shadow and blush. Nichole Allergi for OCC did nailswith acoat of sheer white as the main polish and then a creamy white for an ombré effect on the ends. At a glance, it almost looks like delicate lace.
