Beauty Backstage: Dannijo Spring 2015
Mongolian bohemian vibes is the perfect way to describe Dannijo’s inspiration for their Spring/Summer 2015 jewelry presentation. The road trip-themed reflected on their free spirit, young and bold attitude towards their collection. Everything from the presentation aesthetic itself to the hair and makeup was pure genius.
Makeup: The Maybelline makeup team helped Dannijo’s vision come to life by creating a saturated blue flash of cobalt to the eyes and making sure to highlight each model natural beauty. To create the look, the team started with Maybelline’s 24hr Color Tattoo – Leather in Creamy Beige to the brow bone. This helped to set a warm tone. Once finished apply they added Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Loose Powder in Brash Blue for an intense pigment boost. In creating the natural, dewy effect on the skin, the team used Dream Matte Mousse. This also helped to create a flawless glow. They didn’t want a complete matte finish so they lightly brushed their Mineral Power Finishing Veil to even the skin out. To frame and finish, stylists used Maybelline’s Great Lash in Clear to brush the brows upward.
Hair: Leading the team, Rodney Cutler from the Cutler Salon, wanted a rustic, high fashion look. The Cutler team first created a sleek high ponytail, using Redken’s Powder Grip 03 – Texturizing Hair Powder to keep flyaways at bay on the hairline. The team created a short fishtail braid, about three inches long, the braid then dramatically dropped into another ponytail. To finish the look the polishing the look with Redken’s Quick Dry 18 – Instant Finishing Hair Spray for fast drying, firm hold and a finishing high shine.
This completed look was minimalistic with edge, which is what Dannijo is all about.
