Sneak Peek: Lucky Brand Baroque ‘N’ Roll Holiday 2011 Collection
There’s something about Lucky Brand which always feels nostalgic – perhaps its the preppy clothes with the modern twist that strike a chord; or maybe its the laid back approach to design and wear; or maybe its because the clothes never feel overstated and always feel“just right”; whatever it is their latest the Holiday collection continues to convey the same message and its right on the money. This collection “is all about INDIVIDUALITY. It’s about pairing an ornate brocade jacket with beaten-up jeans, or classic plaid with a vibrant Navajo print. It’s about piecing together eclectic looks that express who you are. It’s the root of what makes us unique; it’s something we like to call “Baroque ‘n’ Roll.”
Broken into three deliveries, the vision for the collection is clear and well executed. The first delivery, Winter Nomad, is slated to arrive in stores this fall, will include printed knit sweaters, plaid shirts, and a slew of great accessories. The sweaters which I just adored are visibly inspired by Native American motifs and are an absolute must have as they feel warm yet look so stylish, at fairly affordable price points. The second delivery, Eastern Promise, features prints from textile designer John Robshaw. This delivery is playful with a series of really adorable peasants tops with embroidery details and lace accents. And, the last delivery, Fresh Frontiers, is their transitional collecting between Holiday and spring. So the pieces are brighter and the fabric thinner but the feel is still classic and well put together. Also, a big push for this season are the denim which are really amazing (and I don’t really like jeans) and features many styles and FIT.
