Hot! Talbots Holiday 2011

We’ve said this before but it bears repeating – Talbots is really stepping up its game with the wares they are producing as of late.  We got a sneak peek at Talbots’ Holiday 2011 collection when we stopped by their showroom recently. The collection which according to WWD was “inspired by Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball of 1966,” is really outstanding in its simplicity and glamour – no surprise there.

Michael Smaldone, Talbots’ chief creative officer, once again created a collection that is on trend, sexy but without being over the top or extreme.  Look for a slew of darling long pleated skirts. We loved the varying selection of colors and fabrics available in this style. We were particularly enamored with the black and white printed skirt. There are some dresses that are a nod to 60’s fashion and style which are equally as impressive and gorgeous.

Still the collection focuses on decidedly simple silhouettes such as a-line dresses, longer pleaded pants, and scoop neck sweaters with a twist.  The colors selections tend to lean to the black, whites, and grey but with pops of colors sprinkled in. There’s a red trend in the collection that is accompanied by a vibrant and bold selection of colors that include blues, greens, and purples.

The accessories and shoes as usual left us dazzled.  The bangles and necklaces are just talking pieces – no seriously!

We anxiously await this collection to hit stores so that we can score some our most desired the pieces.

Take a look at our images from the collection (below)
