Nosh on Free Food and Enjoy a Free Movie at South Street Seaport (Get the Scoop)
The South Street Seaport has partnered with LW Productions to host the Seaport Film & Food Festival, a new four-week international film and food series from July 24 to August 21. Every Thursdays from now until August 21-a delicious array of free cuisine and drinks highlighting a different country will be served at 6:00pm, followed by an outdoor free screening of one acclaimed international film at the Front/Row stage, located at Fulton and Front Streets, taking visitors on a cultural and culinary journey.
The Seaport Food & Film Festival is the newest addition to the SEE/CHANGE 2014 summer season, which already includes an array of curated retail pop-ups, culinary offerings, live music, outdoor cinema and family-friendly fare.
The scheduled four screenings are as follows:
- 7/24 – Sweden – ‘Cockpit’ presented by Sweden Film Commission, IKEA and the Consulate General of Sweden: 2012 comedy directed by Mårten Klingberg (96 minutes-Swedish with English subtitles)
- 7/31 – Mexico – ‘Nosotros Los Nobles’ (The Noble Family) presented by the Cine Latino and Mexican Cultural Institute of New York: 2013 comedy directed by Gary Alazraki (108 minutes- Spanish with English subtitles)
- 8/14 – Taiwan –’Au revoir Taipei’ presented by Taipei Economic & Cultural Office in New York and Taiwan Tourism Bureau: 2010 comedy directed by Arvin Chen (95 minutes-Mandarin with English subtitles)
- 8/21 – France –’Amelie’ presented by Unifrance – French Film Institute: 2001 award-winning comedy directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (122 minutes-French with English subtitles)
