Bags for the People: Free Sewing Class
Saturday, July 18th, from 1 to 6pm, Bags for the People, 303GRAND(http://www.303grandnyc.com/), BurdaStyle (http://www.burdastyle.com/), and Etsy(http://www.etsy.com/) have partnered up for an environmental and social action and awareness project called “The Sweatshop”. “The Sweatshop” is a room full of sewing machines, fabric, and amazing teachers, who will be on hand to guide beginners and the experienced alike into bag heaven. To further cultivate the creative process, food has been provided by Roof Top Farms (http://rooftopfarms.org/), delicious home brewed beer provided by renaissance man, Matt Miller, and coconut water by Zico(http://www.zico.com/). Plus an amazing free pattern of the Charlie bag(http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/show/261) courtesy of BurdaStyle! Bring yourself and be ready to sew as we are hoping to sew over 200 bags to be able to give out at the Union Square Farmers Market!
