Hot! I Got Botox! Even Though I Don’t Have Wrinkles — and I LOVED It.

#SorryNotSorry — I just got my first Botox…and I think it’s the start of an addiction. Before you are quick to judge, let me explain.

Not long ago, I was invited to the grand opening party of MedSpa44 — the event was called “Bubbles and Botox.” How could I resist?

As a 30-something-year-old beauty and fashion blogger, I am very conscientious of how to keep an age appropriate youthful appearance. Embarking upon my mid 30s, aside from my obsession with eye creams, I have started to consider non-invasive beauty treatments, and having dabbled in microdermabrasion and  laser treatments appropriate to my medium hue African American skin tone, Botox was right up my alley.

MedSpa44 is a beautiful and welcoming space. So I was not surprised to enter the exam room greeted by the cutest nurse practitioner you’ll ever meet — sans any signs of aging. Apparently, she is a Botox enthusiast too! To my surprise, she informed me that my skin was that of somebody 10 years younger than I am, and in very good shape. For real?! And those crows feet that I have worried about? Not that bad. She was more interested in the deep wrinkle that occurred when I furrowed my brows. I had no idea!

To appease me, she did my “crows feet,” and she also addressed my furrowed brow problem. In total, I got about 30 units of botox in less than 10 minutes.

Make no mistake. It hurt a bit. I legit got 10 shots… on.my.face! But the results are totally worth the minor inconvenience. Aside from the fact that it’s hilarious that I cannot squeeze my eyebrows together at the moment, those crows feet that I was worried about are completely gone. And that space between my eyebrows is amazingly smooth. I’m convinced that I will have to do this again.

Oh, and that vampire facial business? I might have to try that. Don’t judge me…
