STEAL: Make Music New York 2013

Make Music New York “is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with over 1,000 concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the five boroughs.”

Browse the schedule to check out what’s happening near you. MMNY will be updating its Instagram throughout the day with photos and videos (if you haven’t heard… Instagram is now in Vine territory of enabling users to create videos!). As you wander the neighborhood enjoying the longest day of the year, tag your photos with #MMNY2013.

STEAL: 20% off Desmond’s Steakhouse

If the name Desmond’s sounds familiar to you, it may be because we were just there! Check out our experience and recommendations of succulent steak, larger than life steak fries, and more. Get 20% off your entire check at Desmond’s by purchasing this $80 for $100 deal for the Midtown steakhouse. Once purchased, the deal is valid for the one year.

SPLURGE: Christian Louboutin at Saks Fifth Avenue

We rejoice as the iconic red soles have made their way from Paris to NYC! Saks Fifth Avenue just opened a Christian Louboutin in-store shop, spanning a spacious 1,600 square foot floor that is Louboutin’s largest in-store shop in the world – not to mention the very first in the U.S.

Check out the adorable video that helped to celebrate the Louboutin debut in the U.S.

STEAL: Malibu C Swimmers Wellness Kit

Malibu C is the official haircare of U.S.A. Water Polo – so it’s got a fantastic rep for helping treat the various woes that come with having hair exposed to chlorine and sun, however routine or sporadic. Whether you’re finding yourself in the pool on the regular this summer or just once in awhile, this Swimmers Wellness Kit is a must-have – it includes a shampoo, conditioner, and four wellness treatments that gently cleanse and treat hair with an all vegan recipe of ingredients.

We’ve been getting our laps in lately and were delighted to find that the scents of the shampoo and conditioner remind us of an orange creamsicle. Plus, the results have been solid: hair doesn’t look or feel dull like it usually does after being drenched in chlorine – soft and shiny locks for the win!

STEAL: The Body Shop Beautifying Oil

We love that this oil is a three-in-one moisturizing solution for body, face, and hair – it makes packing our gym, swim, and travel bags super easy. It’s consistently the first product we reach for after we get out of the pool! Made with a blend of nut oils including Community Fair Trade marula oil, the fast-absorbing oil comes in a variety of fun scents (including Chocomania, Shea, Coconut, Pink Grapefruit, and more… the Moringa scent is among our favorites) and although it’s an oil, it’s light in application.

After rinsing off from the pool or ocean, apply the oil to body, face, and hair to lock in moisture and promote soft skin.

STEAL: Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel

Our adoration of Mario Badescu continues with its bestselling Enzyme Cleansing Lotion – a do-it-all solution for general cleansing and makeup removing! While it does not advertise itself as a makeup remover in its name, the non-foaming gel is powerful enough to remove all traces of makeup with one cleanse. The papaya and grapefruit extracts are especially effective ingredients in maintaining a fresh face and preventing blackheads and breakouts. Suitable for all skin types.

$12.00 (8 oz.) or $20.00 (16 oz.) at Mario Badescu

SPLURGE: NARS The Multiple

It’s not the first time we’ve raved about the NARS Multiple, but it’s back for good reason. Simply your summer beauty routine with this multi-purpose stick that can be used on cheeks to define cheekbones (as a cross between a blush and bronzer) or on eyes to add additional contour and color to the face.

The color is long lasting so you won’t have to worry about it melting away on a summer day. It’s available in a range of shades from bronze to sheer pink (our favorite is the famous and bestselling Orgasm – a peachy pink shimmer!).

$39.00 at Sephora and NARS

SPLURGE: 32 Effervescent Breath Treatment

Did you know that approximately 80 million Americans suffer from chronic bad breath? Eek! With the heat of summer, those usually trusty Listerine strips and pieces of gum that we usually turn to for a quick freshen up are subject to melting. Enter: 32. Pioneered by NYC cosmetic dentist Dr. Tom Connelly DDS, 32 is a cool alternative (and QVC favorite) definitely worth trying. Not only does it deliver fresh breath for up to four hours, but it’s almost like eating peppermint pop rock candy. It comes packaged in single-serve packets perfect for on the go.

$36.00 (40-count) at 32

STEAL: IMSMIS Style Stripes Watch

If you’ve seen Miley Cyrus lately (her newest music video = wow), you may have noticed that she’s sported some sick (as in fabulous) striped pants. Other stars have been spotted donning this summer’s trends too – and in the spirit of black and white stripes, this watch is a must-have.

At $29.00, it is way too easy to give into this steal.

These may not be the cheapest flip flops, but they’re definitely a worthwhile investment for the long term. Known as the world’s most comfy flip flop, Havaianas now has a pop-up shop in the Meatpacking District, open until September. Swing by the shop to gaze at walls of flip flops featuring tropical and summery designs, customize your own, and be set for summer.

We recently treated ourselves to the Slim Tropical in Aubergine ($32.00)– it was love at first sight.

Prices vary at Havaianas
