Its Five O’clock and It’s Also National Cognac Day! Put Your Pinkies Up and Celebrate
If you love Cognac, its probably notional cognac day every day for you but the rest of us, today is a day to celebrate. In honor of the day, Courvoisier, whose storied history dates back past Busta Rhymes hit dates back to the days of Napoleon Bonaparte, shared some recipes with us. Did you know that Courvoisier as once known as “the cognac of Napoleon,” since it was the French emperor’s favorite, and you can actually see Napoleon reaching into his jacket (where he notoriously kept his flask of Courvoisier) in the brand’s current insignia? So, lets celebrate like the Kings and the ladies who lunch.
Here’s a recipe to get you going
1 ½ part Courvoisier® VSOP
½ part Campari
½ part Sweet Vermouth
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Directions: Combine the VSOP, Campari and Vermouth in a shaker over ice. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and add bitters. Garnish with an orange slice.
