Spotlight on Style: David Meister Fall 2010
David Meister, has been in the fashion business for a long time, and with good reason he is known for his ability to create dresses that are classic yet flatter every woman. His body hugging sexy dresses with slinky lines have been spotted on the likes of Sharon Stone, Alicia Keys, Demi Lavato, Jennifer Hudson and so many more.
The famed designer began his career at Danksin were “he learned the magic of stretch in fabrication and how it can be used to masterfully perfect a woman’s curves, glamour, and aura,” that experience clearly shaped his design style. To this day Meister’s gorgeous creations, exude femininity because of his clear understanding of body contouring and body shaping – so his duds work on any woman young and “sophisticated.” And, it’s probably one of the reason why he has been so successful.
I had the opportunity to preview the Fall 2010 collection were much to my delight David himself walked me through the collection. As he walked me through collection explained that with this collection he experimented with new shapes such as the lantern skirts, and worked with interesting drapes. The experimentation with patterns and draping is evident in the Origami inspired pleated dresses. Though, his sequins dresses and one-shoulder pieces aren’t going anywhere. David explained that women have really fallen in love with the one shoulder silhouette, and continued saying that sequins will be “huge” this fall.
The Fall collection include some wonderful selection of evening, “red-carpet” and casual dresses (I already have my eyes on a couple of pieces) with rich patterns, diverse shapes, and great colors. For the evening dresses, expect asymmetrical cocktail dresses or strapless gowns in funky colors like Fuchsia,or Emerald, or bold prints, but don’t fret most looks are 90% stretch and knit. So the frocks maintain that fitted bodice that will give the woman wearing it a seductive form that is modern yet classic. Trust me, its possible.
The Fall pieces are scheduled to arrive in stores in few weeks but in the meantime be on the lookout for first ever Bridal collection in stores this June.
