Nick Lachey and Drew Lachey Help Christened South Street Seaport
Unless you’re the type of person who makes it rain at stores like Chopard or Tiffany’s (AKA a member of the 1%), chances are that your ability to see the many sights of New York City offers via sea are limited by access to commercial boats and pier space.
Luckily, there are plenty of options with varying price and access to pier. However, after Hurricane Sandy, the choices were just a little less. South Street Seaport’s Pier 15 along with many of the surrounding business, for instance, were closed as a result of the devastating effects of the hurricane. This naturally prevented many tourists from enjoying the wonderful scenery that the location offers. However, this changed on Tuesday, when Hornblower Cruises & Events, in partnership with NYC & Company and the NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), hosted a re-dedication and christening of Pier 15.
The celebration which, included a performance from Boardwalk Empire actress Margot Bingham (she sang the national anthem), also served as the official groundbreaking for the NYC & Company’s on-site visitor center and introduced Hornblower’s two new cruises–Rock the Yacht! and Alive After Five.
The event also included a wonderful sunset yacht cruise around Manhattan. The weather was though somewhat chilly was perfect and reminded us why New York is just the prettiest city in the world. It also offered so many instagram worthy moments. Naturally, guests including Nick Lachey and Drew Lachey, were busy snapping selfie with Lady Libery serving as the backdro
