If donning Oscar de la RentaMarc Jacobs Beauty is a dream, then Karlie Kloss was totally living it at this year’s Met Gala. Makeup artist Brigitte Reiss-Anderson for Marc Jacobs Beauty created the model’s “60’s but modernized” beauty look to compliment the feminine silhouette of her gown.

On creating this soft look, Reiss-Anderson shared her techniques, “The anchor of this look was a flawless complexion – we kept the skin very light and luminous. We applied the Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Supercharged Foundation with a sponge and stippling brush throughout the skin and highlighted her features with slight contouring and flush. We applied a dusting of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush in Obsessed to the apples of her cheeks to achieve an innocent pink. To keep this classic look modern, we took what was typically a very structured eye and made it a little deconstructed by adding depth through two formulas of deep black liners – liquid and gel crayon – and mixed matte neutrals in the creases of her eye for some subtle drama. The lipstick – the perfect nude – made all the difference, it kept it contemporary. As final touches, we loaded on jet black mascara and filled in her brows with a matte brown eyeshadow.”
