Disney + HSN to Release a ‘Maleficent’ Collection… And You Will Just Want
Disney and HSN are once again teaming up to bring Disney and movie inspired fashion to every pocket in America. The duo have created a two-year partnership to create content and fashionable items inspired by three soon to be releases movies including Maleficent, Cinderella and The Hundred-Foot Journey. “HSN curates wonderful collections that speak to the essence of the story and build a real event around the release of our films,” said Don Gross, vice president, global promotions, The Walt Disney Studios. “We’re excited to collaborate with them again and expand upon these engaging worlds, beginning with Maleficent.”
For the release of Maleficent, HSN worked with designers such as Naeem Khan, Heidi Daus and Amika, R.J. Graziano, Liz Lange, Jean Dousset, Margaret Rowe, and Diane Gilman to create a shopping list of items that include apparel, accessories and beauty products inspired by the film. On the apparel side, pieces range from ladylike with hints of shimmer to polished-goth. Favorites include a mesmerizing beaded jacket (available in both black and white) from Naeem Khan, as well as a darling printed from N by Natori. Though, as expected the fashion offerings are stellar the standout pieces are best seen jewelry offerings. While not for the faint of heart, the pieces–including stunners from Ranjana Khan and R.J. Graziano–are certainly bold and will remain in your arsenal after the movie has left the theaters. See above.
The pieces will debut online on May 7th and on TV on May 27th with a 24-hour programming event. Following the presentation HSN will air an exciting series of “Countdown to Maleficent” primetime specials across all of its platforms – TV, online, mobile – May 28 through May 30, 2014.
