tokidoki for Sephora “Dangerously Fun” Launch Party
tokidoki, a funky and brightly animated-Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand founded by Italian designer Simone Legno, teamed up with up Sephora to create a delightfully fun makeup line that is youthful and hip.
To celebrate the collaboration, Sephora, held a “Dangerously Fun” themed preview party at Arena were products from the line were on display and guests were treated to mini-makeovers. The party was complete with an indoor skateboard rink, tokidoki inspired characters in costumes (like SANDY), a performance by the band Tina Parol, carnival style food, such as cotton candy and doughnuts. Best of all there was also a runway show demonstrating the products from the brand; and of course an appearance by tokidoki founder Simone Legno, who answered questions from eager guests as he presented the collection.
The line features the playfulness of the tokidoki universe characters along with great shades, for the eyes, lips and face along with tokidoki decorated tools and accessories. Proud of the collection Simone Legno, has said “the creation of these tokidoki cosmetics has given me a completely new way to express my characters and their universe,” and “doing it as a Sephora exclusive made perfect sense – they understand the relationship between fun, creativity, self-expression and color unlike any other retailer.”
Frankly, the result are rather impressive. So, don’t let the cute decor fool you because the colors from the collection are fierce – the Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette ($25) is certainly a must have for make-up lovers. And, the accessories are absolutely adorable. I love my tokidoki shirt, along with the make-up that I received just for attending.
Sadly, you will have to wait till May to get your hands on the tokidoki collection.
