Anna Wintour and Jeffery Fashion Cares champion HIV Awareness
This year’s annual Jeffery Fashion Cares New York Fundraiser, held at the vast 69th Regiment Armory, was crawling with fashion legends, fashionistas, and New York City socialites last week. Hosted by Jeffrey Kalinsky, President & CEO of Jeffrey New York/Atlanta & Vice President and Designer Fashion Director, Nordstrom, this event featured author, journalist and LGBT Activist Rob Smith as the honorary guest for the evening, and welcomed featured guests Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Steve Madden, Anna Chlumsky, Jason Wu and others. Guests pined over fantastic fashion, beauty, and leisure items on auction by Gavel and Grand to benefit Jeffery Fashion Cares, some of which included jewelry from DANNIJO, glamorous handbags by Marchesa, and an amazing shearling coat from M.Patmos.
How Jackie O. are these fabulous Bottega Veneta sunglasses though?!
Established in 1992 by Jeffrey Kalinsky, Jeffrey Fashion Cares was launched to heighten awareness of the plight of people living with HIV/AIDS and members of the LGBTQ community. Organizations like the Hetrick-Martin Institute, an organization dedicated to empowerment, education, and advocacy for LGPTQ youth, ACRIA, an art fashion media and design organization dedicated to fighting AIDS, and other fantastic AIDS advocacy and education organizations.
Of course, wine, champagne, and cocktails flowed freely, and guests enjoyed the delicate d’oeuvres that circulated on trays throughout the magnificent space. Following an elegant cocktail hour and the viewing of auction items was the main event: a runway show featuring some of the hottest male fashion models you’ve ever seen. All total the event raised over $600,000.
