Blanc De Chine Fall 2010 Collection and Party
Luxury designer, Blanc De Chine, recently presented its Fall 2010 Collection at their Fifth Avenue boutique away from the hustle of the Bryant Park tents. The laid back presentation complete with a “pre-party” allowed guests to relax as they waited for the show the begin; the fashionable affair had all the trappings of a great party/presentation. It included, passed food, drinks, and was attended by socialites; fashionistas; tastemakers; Alex McCord and husband Simon van Kempen from the Bravo reality hit, The Real Housewives of New York City, were also in attendance as well as style expert Derek Warburton.
After guests mingled and chatted amongst each other, they made their way to spiral staircase to the second floor where the show was set to begin. And began to the sounds of Jazz group the Strayhorn Project and continued as model, after model walked the runway in a perfectly polished piece from the collection.
Like previous collections, the Fall 2010 collection is inspired by the Ming Dynasty; this prevailing theme is evident in many pieces, in their construction and presentation. For instance, the round neck design, is a typical feature in Ming ceremonial robes as its symbolizes authority. Additionally, the collection which featured pieces for both women and men focused on long lines, elegant form, and some form fitting silhouettes. To modernized the collection, the designers included current trends like metallic, and sequins design elements.
Though, the Fall 2010 collection is simple, the timeless quality adds to its charm. The use of luxury materials such as silk, cashmere, and other high-end materials will surely also add to its appeal.
