First Look: Alexander Jagger Fall 2011
Remember, when I told you about my general dislike of denim? Well it seems the world of fashion is trying to make a lier out of me. Now, I am slowly starting to accept denim as a style staple, especially after a recent sneak peek at Alexander Jagger Fall 2011 collection.
Alexander Jagger, a division line from Salt Works, in this (their first) line managed to create a cohesive collection that reminds me of the days when GAP was cool and lead the industry in creating mass market designs that equally appealed to young, old and the trendy hip folks. The collection includes dresses, jeans, sweaters, jackets in denim and other selection of fabrics.
The silhouettes are simple and unfussy, the details polished and classic; the combination makes it perfect for the gal on the go, who wants to transition from day-to-night with ease. This gal won’t have to sacrifice comfort or lose her wallet to acquire these pieces as they are both affordable (with the exceptions of Jackets which retails for as much as $149.99 most pieces cost less than $99.99) and seemingly well made. Standout pieces include the Silk Butterfly Tuxedo Blouse, The Denim Cape and the Excel Denim Spy Trench.
