Daniel Vosovic Fall 2013
Project Runway alumni and wunderkind, Daniel Vosovic, whose designs skills landed him a coveted spot on the CFDA Incubator initiative and as part of the program will soon travel to Istanbul and stay at W Istanbul hotel to get inspiration for his upcoming collection, presented his fall 2013 collection earlier this week at the W hotel at Union Square. Vosovic, unlike many designers choose to present his collection post fashion week much to our delight. This decision allowed us to fully digest the collection in all its glory.
The fall collection is inspired by a “modern day female aristocrat” read the release. This lady “craves a colorful, textured look with a hint of rebellion.” The resulting offerings combines trends effortlessly and tastefully. The pieces mix razor-sharp tailoring with ladylike silhouettes in a rich selection of aqua blues, burgundies, grays, emeralds and custom prints. Also, like many of the collections that walked down the runway during fashion week, Vosovic juxtaposes fabrics and textures such as wool with (faux) pony hair in an unexpected way. Vosovic, strongest pieces were often found in his outwear offerings. They often featured structured almost architectural design paired with gold hardware.
