Farah Angsana Fall 2011 Review
In a glitzkrieg of sparkles and shine, Farah Angsana, debuted her Fall 2011 collection of ultra luxe evening-wear to much fan fare. Embellishments, crystal applique, jeweled accents and heavy beading were consisting themes for this collection.
The flurry of femme fatale looks kicked off as Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” throbbed and onlookers indulged in Angsana’s unique brand of sultry, starry-eyed style where sex kitten and demure lady toe a fine line.
Hem lengths varied from ski-high mini to floor duster as the color story transitioned from midnight black to amber, teal, cobalt and garnet. Adorned by fabrics such as cashmere, wool and silk chiffon satin, skin was definitely in with plunging backs, one shoulder looks and corsets galore on display.
Romantic upswept hair and siren red lips underscored the seductive quality while cat eye masks channeled Lee Meriwether’s iconic rendition of Catwoman.
A textured gold lame dress with crystal-laden sable vest sizzled while the finale gown, a clear crowd favorite, was a glitterbomb fantasy in angel white. The audience swooned as the barely-there, peek-a-boo confection of organza ruffles and feathers floated down the runway.
