#NYFW Backstage Beauty: Zero + Maria Cornejo Fall 2015
The eccentric beauty accompanying the showcase of Zero + Maria Cornejo Fall 2015 was one of the more playful and daring looks we spotted so far this season – we loved the quirky approach. Take a peek…
We talked to Dick Page, Artistic Director for Shiseido, while he was busy being a painter extraordinaire after models’ faces were made up naturally with Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer, Sheer and Perfect Foundation SPF 18, and Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment. The star of the makeup was the handpainted series of whimsical patterns Page created on models’ eyes — each one receiving a different, freestyled pattern created through random brushstrokes. Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Caviar and Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Tin were mixed together to create the gunmetal tint.
James Pecis for PHYTO took the inspiration of independent, spirited, and artistic women to heart in creating a textured mohawk style to celebrate the notion of individuality and eccentricity. Texture was added to hair to purposely leave a crunchy finish. Pecis and team created a graphic cornrow at the part of hair and connectied the braids at the nape of the neck. To achieve a pumped up, windblown effect, hair was sprayed with PHYTO Phytovolume Actif while being blown dry. Once dry, PHYTO Professional Matte Texturizing Paste was added to loose hair in the top section for even more structure. The look was finished with PHYTO Phytolaque Soie.
Gina Edwards, Key Artist for Morgan Taylor, created a spotty manicure reminiscent of the artistic whimsy of Salvador Dali. The design was made up of asymmetrical dots that were randomly placed and sliding off the sides of nails. Using Birthday Suit as the base, In The Nude polish was layered on, followed by large black polka dots in Little Black Dress.
