Katie Gallagher Fall 2012
Inspiration: The forest is a space that a city can not possess. Katie Gallagher’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection.”Silent Soil” is about bringing the atmosphere of the places that the spirit knows to the places that the body lives.
Hair: Cesar Ramirez for T3
What we thought:
Gallagher, a New York based designer who says she was born in the middle of a forest in Pennsylvania, collection gave us a glimpse of her creative mind. She didn’t just want us to see her clothes, she wanted us to feel an experience. A dark experience, with melodramatic music and a soiled filled runway, the models dragged down the runway like drones. The collection included woven moss green thin leggings with even thinner woven skirts. Tailored jackets that included a coat made from a “potato sack” like material. This collection was a dreamy mix of textures. She has mastered a goth, but still everyday wearable look. The shoes were sky high clogs that looked almost impossible to stride in. Our favorite piece was the long black multi textured jacket. It was a breath taking show stopper. – Tania Jen
