What We Thought:
Katie Gallagher Fall 2015 stuck to the designer’s signature, minimalist color palette which shined against the studio backdrop of Pier 59. The bright reds of the collection stood out with an aura of high-fashion “Little Red Riding Hood” and the cropped capes were pieces we wanted to slip on immediately to brave the cold outside. There was a smart play between multiple contrasting elements: the over-sized silhouettes versus shorter capes, as well as between the signature Katie Gallagher leggings next to the widest trousers we’ve ever seen from the designer.
Though the collection is comprised of three colors, its detail is not to be missed – from the construction that simulates blurred lines to the shoes by Born that Katie Gallagher meticulously sewed for a more tailored fit around the ankles of the models. See our shots of the show (with a model line-up that included DJ Elle Dee).
