VEDA Fall 2012
VEDA celebrated their fashion week presentation of their Fall 2012 collection at the Hole Gallery in the East Village. This elbow to elbow standing room only event began with a cocktail hour. The cocktail hour included with red and white wine along with champagne cocktails, music, and guests mingling among modern art pieces. The presentation consisted of versatile ready-to-wear pieces inspired by a variety of images and modes such as Diana Vreeland’s iconic interiors, Angela Chase, Palais de Tokyo, “I Dream of Jeannie,” Ponyboy, monochromatic mixing, Persian rugs, and Versailles gilt.
VEDA has a way of blending cowgirl roots with modern urban chic, making for pieces that have an authentic sense of earthiness combined with the contemporary and urbane. Designer Lyndsey Butler’s Texan roots are visible throughout the collection. Of course, pieces much like VEDA’s core leather items pepper the Fall 2012 collection in sexy, edgy jackets and vests with striking lines and collars that pop. Beautiful silk blouses soften this collection with delicate patterns in rich colors – gorgeous contrasting fabrics that round out the collection’s ability to be edgy as well as feminine.
