#NYFW Backstage Hair Report: Marissa Webb Fall 2013
Following the touchdown of Nemo in the city, we started off our Saturday morning at none other than Lincoln Center (and despite that our cabbie asked “is it even open?” we made it there in one piece). Starting off backstage for Marissa Webb, we caught up with Tommy Buckett for Garnier Fructis on how he prepped not only the models for the presentation, but himself too!
To rest up for an early morning, Tommy called it an early night on Friday, and first thing Saturday made sure to get his dose of coffee and a healthy helping of fruit to start the day. He was pretty un-phased by all the snow (what with being from Michigan and all) – even describing the “pretty, wintery white” scene as a perfect mood setter for NYFW.
Tommy described the inspiration for the hair of Marissa Webb Fall 2013 as expensive hair a la Veronica Lake, featuring a deep side part and glamorous waves to create a modern look to complement the structured sophistication of the collection.
Our burning question: in his Garnier Fructis arsenal, what does he consider his weapon of choice? Tommy quickly whipped out a bottle of the Volume Extend Pure Volume Dry Shampoo, describing it as a versatile go-to for a range of hairstyles whether curly or pin straight, and a product of choice for an anytime “hair up, messy bun.” The best part? It helps keep oiliness and stickiness at bay so that hair both feels and looks clean even on the second and third day of not being washed.
