Nicole Miller Masters Sex and Rock & Roll in Fall 2012
Nicole Miller’s Fall Collection showcased the ultimate in 70s glam rock. Crushed velvet leggings, silk georgette blouses and over-the-top colored furs commanded the cat walk at the packed 6pm show under the tents at Lincoln Center. Garden florals accompanied Jimi Hendrix inspired
suede jumpers, boots and floppy hats in chocolate brown and cheetah.
Miller mixed leather fringe with digital prints in maxi-dresses and clutch handbags, gold chain-link belts and blacked-out sunglasses. Baubles that looked like art hung from the necks of Miller’s models, styled with boxy dresses, thick tights and lace-up ankle booties. Miller’s
collection also spoke highly of 1970s androgyny. Collared shirts buttoned to the neck, patch work leathers, big, wild curls and brightly painted nails reminded us of Steven Tyler. —– Shekinah Johnson
