#NYFW Beauty Backstage Tracy Reese Fall 2014
“The look is all about individual beauty,” Ouidad’s Creative Director, Morgan Willhite, explained. “So you’re going to see a different look on each model. If they have an afro we are going rock it; if they have really curly tight texture we are going to break it up and have a full type of look.” To enhance the models natural hair stylists used bobby pins to wrap the hair in a figure eight motion and then set it with a flatiron. And, used products such as Wave Create Sea Spray, the PlayCurl Volumizing Styling Spray, and the Salon Series Mongongo, as needed to tame any unwanted flyaway and keep the hair in place.
“Tracy wanted to create moods for the each girl,” Mally Roncal of Mally Beauty told us. Moods included Stoic, Sultry, Melancholy, and a few more but depending on the mood the look was different. Some models were given bold eye-brows, while others were giving gold glitter. To create the look Mally used her concealers to create a flawless photo finish and rounded the face with using her Pro-Tricks Shadow Palette and Mally’s Brow Beauty Ultimate Brow Kit.
As with the hair and makeup, the nails were all about individuality, Tracy Lee from Sally Hansen created three looks for the models to wear. One look was two coats of Sally Hansen’s upcoming Somber Bliss Complete Salon Manicure and another look featured two coats of Chili Fakes glitter polish.
