John Legend Jumps In With AXE® White Label Collective
9-time Grammy Award winner John Legend takes a “Leap of Faith” in his latest endeavor with AXE® White Label Collective. This partnership creates an incredible opportunity for aspiring musicians and singers — a mentorship program and platform to showcase their creative talent.
Starting today, aspiring artists are encouraged to submit examples of their music on YouTube. Five winners will be chosen. Musical artists will be awarded with the opportunity to work one-on-one with John and perform with him at the SXSW Music Festival. Style creators and designers will have a similar contest opportunity this spring. Winners will show their work at New York’s Fashion Week in the fall.
“My first leap moment came when I met Lauryn Hill. She invited me to play piano. Later, I was introduced to Kanye West, who was working on “College Dropout.” I was given the opportunity to sing the hook on some of his tracks and others he made for artists like Jay-Z. I’m excited to pay it forward,” said John. “My word of encouragement to up-and-coming artists is: ‘Take The Leap’”.
