Jennifer Lopez Hosts “About Face” Book Launch Party
I am probably the only person who has NEVER heard of Scott Barnes–as evidence by the packed house of wall-to-wall guests at the super swanky Provocateur at the Hotel Gansevoort (On Wednesday January 20th); Most of whom, I presume were on hand to celebrate launch of “About Face.” Or, maybe guests were there to catch a glimpse of Jennifer Lopez who also made an appearance. Whatever, the cause Provocateur was packed. The paparazzis were in full effect for what I assume is a start sighting. Funny enough, as I walked I spotted a bevy of transvestite as they were photographed by the waiting paps.
I may not much about Scott Barnes but I have seen his work on magazine covers– Do you remember Celine Dion‘s CD cover for taking chances? Yep, Scott did it! In addition, to his work a famous make-up expert, Scott is also a beauty expert and created the book to help us mere mortals re-create those glamorous looks that we so often swoon over. Well, any self-respecting make-up lover unlike me. I am working on it, though!
Scott Barnes A-list admirers such as Judith Light, Kat Deluna, Kelly Rowland, Sylvia Tosun, Wendy Williams AKA “How You Doing?,” Christian Siriano (LOVED him and his boyfriend), Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Cheyenne Jackson, Karl Simone, Frederique, and Oribe, made an appearance to support their boy Scott. Though, the special honor of being labeled the guest of honor was reserved for Jennifer Lopez who wrote the forward and show up at the party with hubby Marc Anthony by her side.
Ms. J.lo, made a timely appearance as the DJ played her current single- “Louboutins,” I still don’t know what to think of the song. I mean a song devoted shoes; seriously? I love shoes as much as the next girl but I am not singing a song about my love for shoes, granted I am not singing a song about anything either– that’s neither here nor there. While, making my best effort to tune the song out, I made my way to where Jennifer Lopez and husband were seated to take a picture but was swiftly stopped by one of their body guards. You know flash, will make her flawless make-up melt and we surely don’t want that.
Though, I wasn’t able to take a picture of J.lo on my way I was giving a copy of her single (yeah me) and a copy of the book, now I can try to make looks for mortals. You can purchase the book at Amazon ($14.61).
