TFR: Best Dressed at the Golden Globes
Award season has kicked into high-gear, and despite what’s happening in Haiti actors came out, in full force with fabulous duds to recognize the great works of this this year. While, they were some misses–that I shall not name– many safe dresses (I blame the stylists); And, of course some great standouts and these I will name. A look back at some of my favorites of the night below.
Diane Kruger— an image of perfection(if there’s such a thing) in her vibrant pink tulle bustier dress by Christian Lacroix Haute Couture. Loved how the dress draped perfectly on her body along with soft ocean inspired ruffles and the gorgeous white bow.
Penelope Cruz — Hardly ever makes a red-carpet missteps, this Golden Globes is no different; Ms. Cruz, continued her impressive streak of making good dress choices with her selection of a gorgeous black- lace gown with Horizontal stripes from Giorgio Armani Prive. Plus she holds a special place in my heart for because she held her my own umbrella because “she is not like Puff Daddy.”
Maggie Gyllenhaal — choose a peachy-pink RM Roland Mouret gown with origami inspired details for her Golden Globe appearance. A stunning choice to complement her figure and skin tone.
Marion Cotillard — After her daring choice at the Oscars last year with a dress that I loved but received mixed reviews, she earned a place in my women to watch list. I am happy to report : she didn’t disappoint, her selection of a deep jewel frock from Christian Dior-breathtaking. Amazing.
Amy Poehler— Though simple, I loved this bright red Jay Godfrey dress; perhaps, because it was so bold in the sea or peaches, lilacs, white and the always safe black. It stood and I am impressed.
Gabourey Sidibe – looked dashing in her emerald green Kevin Hall dress. I love her dress and her bubbly personality. And, her excitement just makes me want to hug her. On being nominated she says “I’m incredibly lucky to be named in a category with people I admire like Helen Mirren and Sandra Bullock.” I am rooting for you Gabby.
Kate Hudson– was breathtaking in her show white sculpted Marchesa gown as walked the red carpet. I don’t know about her stripper shoes but I am willing to overlook that horrid decision and I wish she would have included a simple necklace but other than those changes she looked great.
Amy Adams— HOT mama-to-be Amy Adams absolutely glowed in her bump hugging forest green Carolina Herrera silk dress. Great job and can’t wait to see what other dresses Carolina Herrera has in stores for the pregnant Adams.
Halle Berry — As usual looked HOT in a very revealing(maybe too revealing) skin tight Kaufman Franco dress. Did I mention is a 43-year old mom? Yeah.
Think we missed someone? Let us know.
