Revealed: Duro Olowu for jcp Lookbook
Though jcpenney‘s designer collabs are not as publicized at those of H&M or Target, they are as successful. The retailer most recently teamed up with Nigerian born but London based designer Duro Olowu. “I am proud to partner with jcpenney to create and launch this new seasonal collection,” he explained. “Working with jcpenney has allowed me to merge my vision of style and quality with their affordability, resulting in a line that is stylish, beautifully made and accessible. It has been an exciting experience to bring this fashion and home collection to life.” A favorite of Michelle Obama, Anna Wintour and Linda Evangelista, Olowu, designs stray towards bright, colorful and bold prints so often found in West African fashion, with flowing silhouettes.
The collection which he designed for jcpenney, is as you would expect– lively and effortlessly stylish. Naturally, we are obsessed. It evokes an image of a gal with an aplomb that’s envied by those around her. And, giving the affordability–nothing will retain for more than $100 with prices starting as low as $10, we can’t help but to make a wish list (even if Christmas just passed). The collection is slated hit stores and online starting March.
