Pamella Roland, Thakoon Panichgul, Lo Bosworth Attend Whitney Studio Party and Help Raise Millions
Last night Upper East Side denizens, seemingly used to gaggles of sequin clad ladies and tuxedo wearing fellas, were unbothered by the celebratory crowd who gathered for dinner and the following after party/gala at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
The quite scene that greeted us was no indication of the festive happenings inside. As we’ve come to expect from yearly party–the entrance which housed the red-carpet flashed that special kinda of crazy. We watched and waited as girl about town, Lo Bosworth, posed for the photographers before we joined soirée. Inside the usual suspects from the art world and fashion world, including Michael Avedon, Kyle DeWoody, Jon Neidich, Hannah Bronfman, Lo Bosworth, KAWS, Timo Weiland, Kaelen Naworth, Robert Verdi, and so many more, engaged ludic behavior. They played with Microsoft’s new Windows 8 interactive tablets; they used a 55” touchscreen featuring, the Fresh Paint app, to create their own virtual art within the walls of the Whitney; they also captured moments in the photobooth; and naturally they buzzed about the art.
This year the party, which was sponsored by Pamella Roland and Microsoft and honored Sondra Gilman Gonzalez-Falla, a loyal friend to the museum, raised over $2.7 million some of which will benefit the New York Foundation for the Arts Emergency Relief Fund.
