Brimming with benefits that are said to be fundamental to your health and wellbeing, natural and home remedies have grown in popularity over the past decade. They are cheaper than going to your physician, there are few side effects and they are great for boosting your mental and physical health. 

Acupuncture 

Perhaps not always the most appealing treatment due to the nature of its practice, acupuncture is one of Kim Kardashian’s methods. Derived from Chinese medicine, it involves thin needles being punctured into certain pain points around the body. This is meant to target problem areas and allow the body to release its own pain-relieving endorphins. Though celebrities are often paid to rave about certain products, regardless of Kim’s reasons, acupuncture is an approved and popular choice for many wanting to relieve pain the natural way. 

Apple Cider Vinegar 

Super cheap and readily available, Scarlett Johansson swears by this ‘miracle’ formula that can be picked up at the grocery store. Apple Cider Vinegar can treat a number of problems such as warts and nail fungus. Scarlett uses it as part of her skin routine and it is certainly a better alternative to the chemicals found in some skincare products. 

CBD Oil

A number of celebrities use CBD oil as part of their natural health care routines. Many have even created their own product lines, including Whoopie Goldberg. who sells special CBD infused products for women. Farms like Cope CBD in Colorado grow high-quality hemp which can be turned into oils and powders, which are ideal natural remedies for anxiety, chronic pain and a variety of afflictions. CBD oil won’t get you high but may provide the benefits of marijuana without the side effects. It is only legal in certain states, so make sure to do your research beforehand. 

Sesame Oil 

Shailene Woodley uses sesame oil for teeth care. She says the plaque on your teeth is ‘fat soluble, not water soluble’, thus oils are the best way to combat the most common dental problem. There has been some skepticism over this claim, but a 2015 study suggests there is a possibility of plaque decrease. It is always best to check with your dentist before incorporating anything into your daily routine. However, Sesame oil is also high in antioxidants, an amazing substance that helps with a variety of skin and body conditions. 

Potatoes!

An unusual choice, but Lauren Conrad swears that potatoes will help reduce puffiness around the eyes. She recommends using refrigerated potatoes, slicing them up and popping onto your eyelids. A good excuse to have a lie down as well as refresh those eyes, ready for the day ahead – or relax before bed!
