Marni Coming to an H&M Near You
Late last night (read 2AM and we tweeted about it ) H&M broke news of their latest collaboration with Italian brand Marni. The capsule collection is set to debut on March 8, 2012 and be sold at around 260 stores worldwide and for the first time ever will also be available online. This collection like, the Versace one, will include pieces for both men and women.
“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements,” explained Consuelo Castiglioni, Marni Founder and Creative Director.
And, giving the sneak peeks, we think Castiglioni has succeeded – for women – expect bold prints with African inspired themes, bohemian silhouettes, pleated skirts, cropped shorts, paired with with an array of delicious fabrics including silks and crisp cotton poplin. However, for men the collection is a bit more “relaxed,” yet true to the Marni aesthetic – the silhouettes are modern and relaxed, the accents subtle and include using prints as lining for shirts.
If the Versace for HM is indication of what Italian designers can do for H&M, we think this collection will be VERY successful.
