Reebok Pump 20th Anniversory Party Celebration
The makers of the 5411 sneaks but better known as Reebok the rest of you who aren’t cool–I kid of course (maybe), held a party at Pop-Burger (Meat Packing) to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Reebok Pump. In attendance, were Paul Litchfield the genius behind the pump and nicest guy ever. He was so happy that I was there. When, I was just happy to included. Also, in attendance were NBA all-star and hall of Fame inductee, Dominique Wilkins, along with Emmitt Smith and his gorgeous wife.
Can you believe its been twenty years since the original launch? I can’t it doesn’t seem that long ago though I was just a tiny little thing it first came out. I remember the excitement that it created among basketball players in the neighborhood. And, the excitement remains. It seems like all the people at the party were like kids in a candy store and all seem to be enjoying the venue changes which include sneakers displays throughout the venue. There was even a cord with a lot of hanging sneakers that seem to have gotten smaller as the night went on. In the backroom there was also a short film celebrating the life of the pump. I was just thrilled to have to the option of veggie burgers which were delicious and mingle with sneaker enthusiast because truly they seem alien to me.
Happy Birthday Pump and I can’t wait to see what the next 20 year bring.
