Pratt Presents’ Diversity in Design, Celebrates Fifth Issue of DxD
“Pratt Presents” is a curated series of free public programs developed by Pratt Institute that features big ideas, bold thinkers, and brilliant dialogue and this one is no different.
The event will host a panel discussion moderated by Fast Company’s J.J. McCorvey and feature an exclusive group of industry experts including: Fashion Designer Bibhu Mohapatra; Erica Eden, Director, Global Design Innovation, PepsiCo; Eddie Opara, Partner at Pentagram; and Lou Switzer, CEO, the Switzer Group.
The discussion will explore the ways in which a diversity of perspectives help enhance creativity and drive innovation, despite prevailing barriers. The conversation will investigate how might one’s ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation, or socio-economic level affect their perspective on design? Though design and technology are progressive and forward-thinking arenas, how inclusive are they really? This conversation will explore these and other pressing questions as it probes the relationship between diversity and design.
