What We Thought:
Lace, silk, sheer, and sequins graced the runway in muted colors like champagne, black and white. Texture ruled especially in the flattering female cut evening-wear pieces. After taking a break from the lace, Stuart focused on luxurious silk items which were hit-or-miss with fashionistas, as some thought the burnt orange and ivory pieces were too lingerie inspired. Highlights include the floor-length Hollywood glam inspired sequin dripping silver gown and the sensual black cropped bustier top with sheer organza sleeves and matching pencil skirt.
Each model had ankle strap platforms, similar to ballerina slippers, which added even more of a girly quality to the collection. There was one striking headpiece covered in silver sequins, definitely bringing in the Hollywood glamour of years past. Hair was straight and pulled back behind the ears, one of the biggest hair trends in the season. Dark eye makeup was also present, as the lids were lined with grease paint. The rest of the face was clean and natural, rounding out the simple yet polished look. — Lexie Ramage
